Dryer Vent & Duct Services in DFW

Does your dryer take two cycles to dry a load? Does the laundry room feel hot and stuffy? A clogged or crushed vent is the most common reason. We install, repair and clear dryer vents for homes across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, so the lint ends up outside and not inside your walls.

Built to code

Rigid metal duct, tight joints and an outside cap that opens and closes properly. We follow the dryer maker's instructions and local code. [Confirm the standards CR actually works to before naming any].

We show you what we found

Photos of the vent before and after, so you can see the problem and the fix. [Confirm CR takes photos or camera footage on every job].

Airflow we can measure

We check how well air moves out of the vent before and after the work, not just whether it looks clean.

Done in a single visit when possible

Most cleanings and many repairs can be finished the same day. Bigger reroutes may take longer, and we'll tell you up front.

Dryer vent installation , repair and cleaning for DFW homes

A dryer pushes hot, damp air and lint out of the house through a duct that most people never look at. When that duct gets crushed behind the machine, packed with lint, or runs too far with too many bends, the dryer works harder, clothes stay damp, and lint builds up where it shouldn’t. That’s a fire risk, and it also costs you money every time you run a load.

CR Plumbing, Air & Electric works on all of it. As a dryer vent contractor, we handle dryer vent repair and installation, cleaning out a clogged line, and fixing a loose elbow or a disconnected joint. If you aren’t sure what you need, call and describe what the dryer is doing. We’ll point you in the right direction.

Dryer vent and duct services from CR Plumbing, Air & Electric

Here’s what we do, when each service makes sense, and where to go for more detail.

Dryer vent installation and replacement

New home, new dryer, or a vent that’s been wrong since the day it went in? We run rigid or semi-rigid metal duct on the shortest, straightest path to an outside cap, secure the joints, and keep the bends to a minimum. If your old vent is foil, vinyl or crushed behind the machine, replacing it is usually the real fix. Learn more about dryer vent installation .

Dryer vent cleaning and lint removal

Lint collects in the duct and at the cap, and the screen inside the dryer catches only part of it. Cleaning the full length of the run restores airflow and removes fuel from a place where heat is present. We recommend it once a year for most households, more often if you dry a lot of laundry or have pets. See dryer vent cleaning and repair .

Dryer vent repair, elbows and joints

Most damage happens at the connections: a loose elbow behind the dryer, a split joint in the attic, a dented duct squashed by a washer. We fix or replace the damaged section, seal it properly and check that air moves freely when we’re done. This is also where dryer exhaust repair comes in when the vent has come apart or the cap is stuck shut.

Signs your dryer vent needs attention

• Clothes take more than one cycle to dry.

• The top of the dryer or the laundry room feels unusually hot.

• You smell something burning, or a musty, damp smell.

• Lint is collecting around the outside cap, or the flap doesn’t open.

• It’s been years since anyone checked the duct.

If the dryer is hot to the touch and you smell burning, unplug it and call us.

Who does the work

You get a trained technician from our own team, not a subcontractor. We handle plumbing, heating and cooling, and electrical work, so if the problem turns out to be a gas line or a power issue near the dryer, we can sort that out without sending you to someone else. [Confirm CR can quote gas dryer hookups before keeping that line.

Where we work

We install, repair and clean dryer vents across DFW.

frequently asked questions

CR Plumbing, Air & Electric does, across the DFW area. Our technicians run the duct, set the outside cap and test airflow before they leave. Call us and we’ll tell you what your home needs.
Rigid or semi-rigid metal duct, a short and mostly straight run, tight joints that aren’t held together with screws that catch lint, and an outside cap with a working flap. The exact limits depend on your dryer’s manual and local code.
The classic signs are clothes that take longer than one cycle, a hot dryer or hot laundry room, and a burning or musty smell. Check the outside cap, too. If it doesn’t open or is full of lint, the duct likely needs attention.
Once a year works for most homes. A big family, lots of laundry, pets, or a long vent run with several bends means it’s worth doing more often.
Usually, yes. Cleanings and most repairs are one visit. Moving the vent to a new wall or fixing a long run in an attic can take longer. We’ll tell you before work starts.
When the dryer is slow, when you move into a new home, when you replace the dryer, or when it’s been a year or more since the last cleaning. An inspection is a good idea any time you’re unsure what’s behind the machine.

How it Works

01

Assessment

A technician measures airflow, inspects with a borescope, and quotes flat-rate options.
02

Implementation

We install or scrub ducts, seal joints, and photograph before-and-after lint conditions.

03

Quality Check

Post-airflow test confirms <0.6 in-wc back-pressure; you receive photos, video, and maintenance reminders.
