HVAC Services in DFW

One local team for AC, heating and air quality.

CR Plumbing, Air & Electric repairs and installs air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits and dryer vents across DFW. We also fix the airflow and air quality problems that come with them. You’ll get a licensed tech, a price before we start and a straight answer on whether to repair or replace.

North Texas doesn’t do mild. A dead AC in August or no heat during a January freeze isn’t something you can wait on. We keep room in the schedule for those calls.

Rapid Response

No cool in August or no heat in January? Call us and we'll work you in as fast as we can.

Up-Front Pricing

You'll see the price before we start. If something changes along the way, we stop and talk to you first.

Certified Techs

Our HVAC techs are trained on the equipment they work on, so repairs get done right the first time.

Whole-Home Focus

We look at ducts, airflow and insulation, not just the unit. The plumbing and electrical sides are covered too.

Why DFW Homeowners Choose Us

Techs who know the equipment. Ours are trained on the systems they work on. That matters when a warranty is on the line, and it matters more when you’d like a repair done once.

One company for the whole house. An AC replacement often needs electrical work, and a furnace swap can touch the gas line. With HVAC, plumbing and electrical under one roof, you’re not booking three companies and waiting on the last one to show up.

Built for Texas weather. Triple-digit summers, a few hard freezes every winter, hard water and shifting clay soil. We size and service systems for what DFW actually throws at them, not for a mild-climate average.

HVAC Repair, Installation and Maintenance in DFW

AC Repair and Installation

In a DFW summer your AC runs most of the day, so it tends to fail when it’s working hardest. The usual calls are warm air, a unit that won’t start, ice on the lines, and water around the air handler in the attic, which is often a clogged drain line. We diagnose first and give you the real options. If the system has a few more summers in it, we’ll fix it. If it’s due for replacement, we size the new one to your house with an actual load calculation, not a rule of thumb. Details are on our pages for AC repair and AC installation, or start with cooling services.

Heating Repair and Installation

Most North Texas winters are short, which is exactly why heating gets ignored. Then a hard freeze arrives and the furnace that hasn’t run since March won’t light. We repair gas furnaces and heat pumps, check the heat exchanger and safety controls and install replacements sized for your home. If yours hasn’t been looked at this year, fall is the time. A tune-up costs a lot less than a no-heat call on the coldest night. See heating repair, heating installation or our heating services page.

Dryer Vent Service

A clogged dryer vent does more than slow the dryer down. Lint burns, and a restricted vent traps heat. If your clothes need two cycles, the laundry room feels like a sauna or the flap outside barely opens, get it checked. We clean, repair and reroute dryer vents and install new ones to code. More on dryer vent service.

Mini-Split Installation

Ductless mini-splits solve the rooms the ducts never reached: a converted garage, an addition, a sunroom, the bonus room that bakes every afternoon. A small indoor unit and an outdoor condenser, linked through a small hole in the wall, cool and heat just that space. We size each one to the room. See mini-split installation.

Indoor Air Quality

A house can be cool and still have dirty air. Filtration, humidity control and ventilation make a bigger difference than most people expect, especially if someone in the house has allergies. We install better filtration, whole-home humidifiers and dehumidifiers and air purifiers. We also look for duct leaks that pull dusty attic air into the system. See indoor air quality.

Repair or Replace?

This is the question we get most. Here’s how we usually call it.
What’s going on Usually
AC under about 10 years old with one failed part, like a capacitor or fan motor Repair
Furnace under 15 years old with a bad igniter or sensor Repair
12 to 15 years old, with repairs in each of the last couple of years Replace
Needs a big repair and still runs on R-22 refrigerant, which is no longer produced Replace
Cracked heat exchanger on a furnace Replace
Rooms never comfortable and bills climbing Check the ducts first, then decide
When it’s close, we’ll give you both prices and let you choose. H3: Where We Work We handle HVAC from our base in Argyle to Flower Mound, Denton, Keller, Southlake, Fort Worth and Coppell. We also work in Lewisville, Grapevine, Carrollton, Irving, Arlington and the other towns on our service areas page.

HVAC Questions We Hear a Lot

Call (940) 370-5663.

Start with age and history. A system under 10 years old with one failed part is usually worth repairing. One that’s 12 to 15 years old and has needed repairs two summers running is usually not. If it uses R-22 refrigerant, a major repair rarely pays off. The repair-or-replace table above lays out how we decide.

New equipment comes with the manufacturer’s warranty, and our installation work carries a workmanship warranty.

They do, mostly because they get the check done. A spring AC tune-up and a fall heating check catch small problems, like a weak capacitor or a dirty burner, before they turn into a no-cool or no-heat call.

Start with the easy things: change the filter, make sure registers and returns aren’t blocked by furniture and keep the outdoor unit clear. If airflow is still weak, the cause is often leaky or undersized ducts, and a tech can test for that.

Usually it’s ductwork. Leaks, kinked runs, undersized ducts or a weak return can all starve a room. Poor attic insulation and two-story layouts make it worse. A duct and airflow check shows which one is behind it.

A little. They help most with scheduling, so you’re not cooling an empty house all day. They won’t fix a system that’s undersized or leaking air. Pair one with a system that’s running well and you’ll notice it on the bill.

It’s worth doing soon. Lint is flammable, and a restricted vent traps heat. If your dryer takes more than one cycle to dry a load, or the laundry room gets hot, get the vent cleaned.

Yes. They’re a good fit for rooms the ducts don’t reach, like garages, additions and sunrooms. See our mini-split installation page.
