Sewer Line Repair & Replacement

See what's wrong before anyone digs.

A sewer problem rarely announces itself politely. It shows up as a gurgling drain, a backup in the lowest
tub or a soggy patch in the yard that never dries. CR Plumbing inspects, repairs and replaces sewer lines
for homes across DFW. We camera the pipe first so you can see the damage yourself, then walk you
through your options, including no-dig repair that leaves your yard and driveway alone.

No-Dig Options

When the pipe allows it, we fix it from the inside through small access points. Your lawn, driveway and landscaping stay where they are.

Licensed Sewer Plumbers

Sewer work isn't a side job for us. Licensed plumbers handle every inspection, repair and replacement.

Camera Inspection First

A high-definition camera shows us the crack, the root ball or the sag. You'll see the same footage we do before anyone picks up a shovel.

Straight Repair Options

You get a plain explanation, a price in writing and every realistic option. Repair, line or replace. We won't push replacement on a pipe that just needs a fix.

Sewer Line Services for DFW Homes

Your sewer line is the pipe you never think about until it fails. It runs from your house to the city main or septic tank, usually buried a few feet down, and it handles everything that goes down every drain you own. When it cracks, sags or fills with roots, the whole house feels it.
North Texas is rough on these pipes. Expansive clay swells and shrinks with the weather and slowly pulls joints apart. Older homes still have clay or cast iron lines that corrode and flake. Tree roots find every small gap and move in. So a lot of the sewer work we do starts with the same call: “Something’s wrong, but I don’t know what.”

That’s where we start too. We run a camera down the line, find the problem and show you the footage. Sometimes it’s a clog that needs clearing and a repair. Sometimes the pipe is shot and has to be replaced. If the damage allows, trenchless sewer repair fixes it without trenching across your yard.
We’ll explain each option, what it costs and what we’d do if it were our house. Sewer line work is one part of the plumbing services we offer across DFW, so if the real problem turns out to be somewhere else in the system, we’ll tell you.

Sewer Inspection, Repair and Replacement

Signs Your Sewer Line Has a Problem

One slow drain is usually just a clog. Several at once is a different story. Watch for gurgling toilets, water backing up in the lowest tub or shower, a sewage smell inside or out, and lush green patches or soft spots in the yard along the line’s path. Foundation cracks and unexplained pest problems can also point to a broken line. If you see two or more of these, call before it turns into a backup.

Sewer Camera Inspection

This is where every job starts. You might hear it called a sewer scope, a sewer camera inspection or a video inspection. It’s all the same thing. We feed a waterproof camera through the cleanout and follow the pipe to the street, watching for cracks, offset joints, sagging sections and roots. The locator on the camera tells us exactly where and how deep a problem sits. That means the repair covers just the damaged section and nothing more. If you’re buying a home, an inspection before closing is cheap insurance. Older neighborhoods in particular can hide a failing line for years.

What Damages Sewer Lines in North Texas

The big four are roots, shifting soil, age and what gets flushed. Roots squeeze in through joints and grow into a mat that catches everything. Clay soil moves with rainfall and drought, which cracks rigid pipe and pulls joints apart. Cast iron and clay pipe from older homes corrodes or crumbles. And “flushable” wipes really aren’t. They snag on rough spots and build up fast.

Sewer Line Repair

If the damage is limited to one section, spot repair is often the right call. We dig up or cut into just that stretch, replace it and reconnect to the existing line. Stubborn clogs may need hydro jetting first. For routine cleaning and the repairs that follow, see our page on sewer line repair and maintenance.

Trenchless Sewer Repair

Trenchless (or no-dig) methods fix the pipe from the inside, or pull a new one through the old one, so you don’t need a long trench. It works well when the line is mostly intact and you’d rather not lose a driveway, patio or mature trees. It isn’t right for every pipe, since a badly collapsed or bellied line may still need digging. Get the full rundown on trenchless sewer repair.

Sewer Line Replacement

Sometimes repair is just money thrown at a failing pipe. If the line is cracked in several places, collapsed, bellied or made of material that’s reached the end of its life, replacing it is the better long-term fix. We replace sewer lines using traditional excavation or trenchless pipe bursting, depending on the layout of your property and what the camera shows. You’ll get both prices before you decide.

Sewer Line FAQs

Look for more than one drain acting up at once, gurgling when you flush or run the washer, a backup in the lowest tub or shower, or a sewage smell. Wet or unusually green spots in the yard along the line are another sign. A camera inspection tells you for sure.

Mostly tree roots, shifting clay soil and age. Older cast iron and clay pipes corrode or crack. Flushing wipes, grease and “flushable” products speeds up the buildup.

Yes, when the pipe allows it. You may see it called no-dig sewer repair. Same thing. It works best on lines that are cracked or root-damaged but still in place. If the pipe has collapsed, we’ll tell you straight that digging is the better fix. More on that on our trenchless sewer repair page.

We do our best. Trenchless repair avoids most of the yard. When we do have to dig, we plan the route to miss trees, sprinkler lines and hardscape where we can, and we’ll go over it with you first.

Yes, you can request a free quote by calling or scheduling an inspection online. We typically begin with a camera inspection to assess the issue and provide an accurate estimate for your sewer line services. This ensures transparent pricing with no surprises.

Often, yes. Sewer line replacement usually needs a permit and an inspection, and the rules differ by city. We handle that paperwork for jobs that require it. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm CR pulls permits]

It swings a lot. A short spot repair costs far less than replacing a long line, and depth, access and pipe material all change the number. That’s why we camera the line first and give you a written price for each option before you decide.

A spot repair is often done in a day. Trenchless lining or pipe bursting typically takes a day or two. Full replacement with trenching can take longer, depending on length and weather. We’ll give you a realistic timeline with the quote.

How it Works

01

Assessment

We perform a sewer scope inspection to locate blockages or damage.
02

Implementation

Based on findings, we recommend snaking, hydro-jetting, or trenchless repairs.
03

Quality Check

We re-scope the line post-repair to verify clear flow and proper sealing.
